Oh Glorious Day

As I was trying to figure out what to write for my weekly post, I started thinking about all the trials and heartache so many are going through. I thought of friends going through losses and changes. I thought of the current political situation and the devastation of where our country is headed. I thought of all the poverty, sickness and death on our planet. I also thought of those going through less-drastic but still painful struggles such as insecurity, anger, bitterness, discontentment, or temptation.

Seeing all these situations and painful experiences on the screen can be depressing. Devastating. It is sad to think that this is the world we live in.

But the purpose of this post is not to complain about how awful our world is. I want those that read this to leave my website looking at the silver lining, the light at the end of the tunnel. And that light isn’t a good president, a change in our current life situation, or a cure for world poverty – although all those things could improve our situation, if only temporarily. No, that light is the eternal home created by the One who created light and life itself – our home in heaven with the Father.

So whatever you’re facing right now – whether you’re suffering physical pain, emotional pain, overwhelm, devastation, or anything else, please remember: you will be rewarded if you follow God. One day we will receive our reward. One day we will be free of pain and sorrow and sadness. What a glorious day it will be.

With love,
