Making a Difference

We love comfortable. We, as American Christians love our happy, picture-perfect, mess-free lives. We don’t like to take off our tunnel-vision glasses and shift our focus to what this world is really like. But the truth of the matter is that life is messy.

Did you know that there are 140 million orphans on our planet? That means 140 million children live everyday without being loved, nurtured, or cared for properly. They don’t get to wake up to their parent’s smiling faces every morning. They don’t get a nice and satisfying breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between. Many don’t have the opportunity to learn to read or write or do basic math. They don’t get to attend church on Sundays and Wednesdays and learn about the abundant love their Heavenly Father has for them.

My family has been extremely blessed to adopt 2 precious girls from China. We are currently in the process of adopting a little boy from China. I completely understand that not everyone can adopt a child into their family, for a number of reasons. But we are all expected to help. We are all called as Christians to help others – orphans included (James 1:27).

My family is hosting a t-shirt fundraiser to raise money for our little boy. Please consider purchasing 1, 2, or even 10! You only have 8 hours to purchase your t-shirt. Share this post with all of your friends on social media.

As the shirt says, YOU can make a difference – even if it’s just one soul. Every soul is important to our Father, so every soul should be important to us.

With love,
