Blessed Be Your Name

Everything he loved. Everything he had worked so hard for. Everything he treasured. Gone. In a matter of seconds. He cries out to his one sure thing: God. “You give and take away, Lord, blessed be your name.”

That was Job. After he lost his children, his servants, and his wealth, he praised the name of the Lord. I pray none of us will ever have to experience those things, especially not at the same time. But we all struggle. We all have times of storms, and trials, and pain. But we also all have times of joy, and laughter, and hope.

When the sun’s shining and the world is good, blessed be His name. When we are faced with trials and tribulations on this earth, blessed be His name. When we are hurting or laughing, blessed be the name of the Lord.

I am not writing this post because I have it all down. I’ll be the first to tell you I’m not perfect. But I’m striving to be more like Christ. I pray you will join me in working toward praising His name, during all circumstances of life.

“The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” — Job 1:21
